*Entrepreneurship Boot camp for Veterans (EBV) Accelerate is a 3 phase, boot camp-style program that handles topics such as finance, management, marketing and strategy planning held at Florida State University *Open to all veteran business owners – 50% or more ownership maintained by veteran, must be in business for 3 or more years, and they must employ 5 or more full time employees *Veteran business owner must have served active duty with honorable discharge or general discharge under honorable conditions *Graduates of other IMVF (Institute for Veteran and Military Families) programs are eligible to apply (must meet stated criteria) *Applicants accepted into EBV Accelerate programs will have lodging and meals provided to them; travel not included *Available in 2021

*Career Advising and Counseling: helps individuals in career decision-making, exploring information on occupations, majors, and future education; internships, cooperative education and placement services *Employer Relations and Recruitment Services: Assists seniors, grad students, alumni with post graduate education and employment needs; career expos and on-campus interviews available; job interview preparation, resume writing assistance *Conducts research on counseling and career development *Walk-ins preferred; appointments can be made by calling or visiting the office *Open to the community, not just FSU students *Maintains listings of primarily part-time, temporary or seasonal jobs geared toward students but available to anyone through a software program called Handshake

*Helps service members, veterans, and eligible dependents succeed in their education goals, student Veteran peer mentoring and tutoring services, Pathfinder program used to mentor veterans and help guide and adjust to college life *Provides qualified vocational rehabilitation and career counseling *Assistance with applying for VA benefits including GI Bill, disability compensation, life insurance and home loan guaranty *Information and referrals to VA medical and mental health services *Office located in the Computer Technology building on the second floor, room 206 (CT206)

Florida Workers' Compensation, Division of

*Administers and enforces Florida's workers compensation laws *Provides assistance to employers, injured workers, insurance carriers, and health care providers; injured workers may receive assistance in resolving claim disputes and certain reemployment services *Ensures self-execution of workers' compensation system through education, informing stakeholders of their rights and responsibilities, leveraging data to deliver services, and holding parties accountable for meeting obligations

Florida Reemployment Assistance Benefits

*Reemployment Assistance Benefits was formerly known as Unemployment Compensation, Benefits or Insurance *May provide temporary cash assistance for persons who were laid-off, fired, quit or had hours reduced through no fault of their own and meet eligibility requirements *Furloughed goverment employees affected by the federal strike fall into the category of "laid off" and may apply *To apply: Go to www.

Florida Office of Early Learning

*Child Care Resource and Referral Network (CCR&R) specialists help families choose quality care and other community resources and refers parents to local Early Learning Coalitions in their area for assistance and entry into school readiness and VPK programs

Florida National Guard, Family Assistance Centers

*Eight Family Assistance Centers around Florida offer practical assistance and emotional support for families and/or persons in the Florida National Guard or any branch of the military; including veterans *Services include sessions to help prepare for deployment, establishing a family care plan, relocation assistance, financial planning, explaining health benefits, and information and referrals to government and other agencies that interact with the military on family and quality of life issues *Emergency financial assistance when funds are available, most often granted to spouses of deployed service members for unexpected emergencies *Gold Star Program for families who have lost a loved one during active duty, provides emotional support and referrals to support groups, spiritual resources, bereavement and financial counselors, along with guidance to additional survivor resources

Florida Legal Services, Connecting Kids to Coverage

*Helps eligible families, children, and pregnant women enroll in Florida's KidCare and family-related Medicaid programs.

Florida KidCare

*Offers either free or affordable, low-cost health insurance for eligible, uninsured children birth through age 18 (coverage ends when child turns 19) *In some cases there may be no charge, or may pay as little as $15 or $20 per month for all children in the family; there is a full pay option for ages 1-18 for eligible households with higher incomes *Covered services: doctor visits, immunizations, dental care, prescriptions, hospital, surgery, vision and hearing care, mental health, preexisting conditions *Four possible programs under the umbrella of Florida Kidcare: Medicaid for ages birth-18, Children's Medical Services (CMS) for ages birth to 18 with special healthcare needs, MediKids for ages 1-4, Florida Healthy Kids for ages 5-18 *KidCare will determine which program child may be eligible for based on age, family income and any special health care needs (Note that either Medicaid or CMS are the only possibilities for ages birth to 1 year old) *Lawfully residing immigrant children may be eligible, and their parents immigration status will not be asked *A child who is a member of a federally recognized America Indian or Alaskan Native tribe may qualify for no-cost *For more information, visit and apply online at www.
