Description:
*Organization of veterans, advocates and lobbies for veterans and their families in Congress
*Educates youth on Americanism and patriotism
*Provides various services in the community as needed
*Provides fellowship and comradery
*Two related groups: American Legion is for veterans who served during certain designated war times, as well as military personnel on active duty
*American Legion Auxiliary is for women with a spouse or close relative who served in the armed forces during one of the designated war times
*Both groups offer a meeting on the 2nd Thursday of the month and a social on the 4th Thursday of the month; call for times
