*Offers patients who do not have suitable family donors a single point of access for all three types of stem cell use in transplantation: marrow, peripheral blood, and umbilical cord blood to combat leukemia, aplastic anemia, and various other immune system, genetic disorders, blood cancers, and blood disorders
*Manages large registry of volunteer donors, including cord blood units; matches donors to patients; offers information about how to become a marrow or cord blood donor
*Provides support for patients, physicians and studies for improving outcomes of stem cell transplants and innovative stem cell therapies; and maintains a free online directory with personalized searches for clinical trials and support for blood cancers and blood disorders
