Taylor County Sheriff's Office

*Provides general law enforcement services for the county *Sponsors Reserve Units in which interested civilians may apply to receive formal law enforcement training, and then volunteer to assist officers on patrol and at special events *Sheriff's Office employees are available to give educational presentations for local businesses, schools and community groups

Taylor County United

*Provide clothing and toys at Christmas/Holiday time to children in need, ages birth through 18 *Gifts usually consist of one set of clothes including a jacket, and two toys or items from the child's wish list *Most children who receive Christmas/Holiday assistance are referred by school social workers, but parents may call if their child has not already been referred by a social worker *Can sometimes assist with small needs when funds are available (for example: wheelchair, small air conditioning unit for a person with an illness, limited disaster assistance for man made or natural disasters) *Does not provide cash or pay utilities, rent or any other bills

*Applications now done through DCF Access Florida *Medicaid Family Planning Waiver (aka Family Planning Medicaid for Today's Woman) *Special Medicaid waiver extending for up to two years Medicaid coverage for women ages 14-55 who have lost full Medicaid coverage *Limited to annual physical exams and pap tests, pregnancy tests, and all forms of birth control including outpatient tubal ligations *Covers STD and colposcopy services if performed within six weeks of the physical exam *Women with a recent pregnancy automatically enrolled in the program for first year of coverage, must re-apply for second year *Women with Medicaid Share of Cost (Medically Needy) may have Medicaid FP Waiver at the same time
