Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend

*Child Care Resource and Referral program assists families in locating child care providers in their area, offers consumer information on what to look for in a quality child care facility, and additional community resource information as needed *Child Care Tuition Assistance (School Readiness) Program provides tuition assistance to young children (ages birth to 12 years old) that allows them to be in a safe, conducive learning environment to prepare them to enter the school system allowing parents to work, knowing their children are in a positive educational environment.

*Up to four-week residential summer prevention/intervention program for black males, grades 7-12, identified as "at-risk" or economically disadvantaged *Aims at increasing educational achievements, facilitating college entry, reducing delinquency, and increasing competency in test taking *Classes: mathematics, algebra, computer science, reading, English, science, African American studies, business, professional and personal development *Comprehensive mentoring provided along with academic instruction *Program dates are almost always first week in June through the last week in June *Will accept youth from anywhere in Florida and other states although space is limited

*Campus-based support program for homeless, adopted and former foster care students attending Florida A&M University *Assists students: housing, education and academics, finances and employment, and supportive relationships through community connections *Provides: on-campus housing assistance, DCF/Homeless Waiver, academic advertisement, orientation fee deferments, housing deposit deferments, book scholarships (limited), financial aid assistance, food and clothing, support and counseling, resources and referrals *Must be enrolled as a FAMU student, who has received foster care, is homeless or adopted (certified by Florida Department of Children and Families)
