Soul Santa

Secure the Call Foundation

*Charity of volunteers which accepts donated phones, repairs, and re-programs them for emergency-only 911 calls *Phones are then given to police departments, sheriff's offices, domestic violence shelters, neighborhood watch groups, and senior citizens centers which have applied for them and will distribute them for persons in need *Program is national; call to find closest drop-off site, or where to apply for a phone *For cities without a drop-off site, phones can be mailed *A free donor barrel can be sent to a host business, library, supermarket or other high traffic place for collection for four weeks, then returned in the same box it was sent in

*Services are in the event of a natural or man-made disaster; the disaster can be on a large level such as a hurricane, or on a smaller level such as a person(s) losing a home due to a fire *The following services are POSSIBLE, depending on need as well as funding availability: *Hot meals, water, and snacks served directly from The Salvation Army Canteen, bags of groceries and food items, pet food (when available), hygiene/clean up kits, clothing vouchers, case management, donation management, spiritual and emotional assistance, and emergency workers in the event of a disaster *Also on an as needed basis and based on availability: gas cards, bus tickets, furniture vouchers, household items *Family Tracing by Regional offices: In extreme disaster, The Family Tracing Service assists to restore and/or sustain family relationships by tracing relatives with whom contact has been lost, either recently or in the distant past
