*Extension professionals provide expert level direct technical assistance and education in the following areas: 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture & Natural Resources, Community Resource Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, AgDiscovery (a two-week summer outreach program in which targets diverse populations of current 8-11 (rising 9th-12th) grade students interested in animal science, veterinary medicine, and related fields) *Offers assistance for animal and natural resource farming, Family and Consumer Sciences including nutrition, financial literacy, senior living and aging, emergency preparedness and safety

*Provides psychiatric evaluation and counseling including crisis counseling for short term; counsels, individuals, couples and groups in person or by video (telemental health) *Counseling services are provided by mental health professionals, but also may be provided by masters and doctoral students in training; Psychiatrists and M.

FAMU, Dorothy Henderson Scholarship Program

*Campus-based support program for homeless, adopted and former foster care students attending Florida A&M University *Assists students: housing, education and academics, finances and employment, and supportive relationships through community connections *Provides: on-campus housing assistance, DCF/Homeless Waiver, academic advertisement, orientation fee deferments, housing deposit deferments, book scholarships (limited), financial aid assistance, food and clothing, support and counseling, resources and referrals *Must be enrolled as a FAMU student, who has received foster care, is homeless or adopted (certified by Florida Department of Children and Families)

FAMU, Police Department

*Provides protection and security to FAMU students, staff, and visitors on campus and persons in surrounding areas by mutual agreement with Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County Sheriff's Office

*Three programs to orient first generation, disabled, or lower-income students at the beginning and throughout their college careers *Programs seek to ease a student's transition into collegiate life and aid in increasing retention among the students in the program *Educational Talent Search: provides educational support for students from designated high schools who are preparing for college *Upward Bound Math and Science: helps high school students preparing for college to build math and science skills *Student Support Services: helps college students in the program with career, academic, and personal counseling, tutoring, workshops, applying for financial aid, grant opportunities, graduate school information and application assistance

*Resource center for veterans who are considering attending FAMU, or are current FAMU students *Information about various veteran educational benefits, assistance obtaining and processing applications/forms *Educational counseling and FAMU admissions information *Computer lab and printing available for veterans and dependents *Veteran students lounge, equipped with sofas, lockers, refrigerator, microwave and phone chargers to provide comfortable environment for comeraderie and mutual support *VA student work-study available for qualifying students *Interested persons may call, walk-in, make appointment or email veteranaffairs@famu.

FAMU, Victim Advocate

*Services offered for currently enrolled FAMU students: *Provide emotional support, short term counseling, and assistance to the victim of a crime *Crisis intervention and referrals to social service agencies, including legal and medical services *Gives information about victim rights according to FL statutes *Explain, and help victims apply for Victim Compensation, and assist victim with impact statements *Victims accompanied to appointments/interviews at police stations, State Attorney's Office, courtrooms, Dean of Students, judicial hearings, and other places *The victim advocate holds confidentiality in high regard and will not release information without the student's consent

*Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System providing information and assistance to parents and diagnostic and instruction support to schools for appropriate educational programs *Child Find assists in locating, identifying, and obtaining services for children birth-21 years with developmental delays, suspected delays, and/or special learning needs

FDVA, Alachua County Veterans Service Office

*Florida Department of Veterans Affairs Alachua county office *Assists veterans and dependents in applying for benefits provided by USVA and other federal agencies: pensions, survivor benefits, service-related medical problems; home loans and specially adapted housing; women veterans outreach *Assists in applying for Florida benefits: Homestead and other tax exemptions, disability benefits, education and tuition breaks, lower license fees and ad valorem taxes during active duty, transportation to medical facilities when necessary *Assists surviving spouse of military retirees with burial, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), and insurance *Coordinates programs with Governor's Office, Florida Legislature, and Florida Congressional Delegation
