*Volunteers are needed to assist in the Early Head Start centers, working with infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 3 years reading to the children, provide an extra pair of hands in the classroom, assist the health and disabilities staff working one-on-one with children with special needs, and many more activities *Other areas of volunteer assistance are: skills such as office assistant, marketing, accounting, and computer knowledge, crews to spruce up the buildings and playgrounds, and help with fundraising and promotions during special events *Must complete a volunteer application including an Affidavit of Good Moral Character, Child Abuse Acknowledgement Form, Standard of Conduct Form, Volunteer Handbook Acknowledgement Form, and Attend a Volunteer Orientation

THIS IS NOT A HOTLINE FOR THOSE FEELING SUICIDAL: PLEASE CALL 988 *LOSS: Local Outreach to those who have lost a a loved one to suicide; a two-person team of trained suicide loss survivors and mental health professionals serving as volunteers to be a resource of support, help and hope to bereaved survivors no matter how long ago the sucicide occured; can be contacted 24/7 by phone or by text at 741741for supportive services immediately and then for as long as needed to decrease their risk of suicide, strengthen mental health and help cope with grief; the LOSS Team will travel to see the bereaved person face to face, or provide assistance over the phone, and also provides a monthly support group *Collaborative effort of NAMI-Tallahassee, law enforcement agencies, and community partners including providing packets to victim advocates for Leon County Sheriff's office and Tallahassee Police Department with information and referrals for help

Love for Liberty

*Program run by the Rock Bluff Volunteer Fire Department in conjunction with Toys for Tots *Collects gifts for children in need ages birth to 16 in Liberty County at Christmas/Holiday time *For 2021: From November 15th through November 19th, (one week) applications may be picked up and turned in at the Calhoun/Liberty Journal Newspaper Office, 10510 NW State Road 20, from 8am-2:30 pm, Monday-Wednesday *Contact person there is Angel; (Best to call to confirm dates and times) *A parent or guardian must fill out the application and must supply proof of Liberty County residency with a Photo Copy of their driver's license, and a utility bill or other bill showing Liberty County address *Distribution of the gifts will take place in December; parents/guardians will be informed of the exact date, time and location *May call the Calhoun/Liberty Journal or Local Program Coordinator during daytime hours if needed for further questions

Madison Community Thanksgiving Dinner

*A group of individuals and churches in Madison County come together each year to provide and serve Thanksgiving dinner for anyone of any age in the community who wishes to attend; persons from other counties may also attend *Event will take place on Thanksgiving Day, 11AM-1PM at the Madison County Senior Center, 1161 SW Harvey Green Dr, Madison, 32340 *The Senior Center is not sponsoring this event, but is letting community volunteers use their space *Volunteers and donations are always welcome
