*Outreach effort of FSU College of Medicine with support from Florida's Area Health Education Centers *Identifies and mentors middle school students with a genuine interest in pursuing a career in science, engineering, mathematics, health, or medicine *Pre-college component open to students from designated Florida high schools: after-school programs in Leon and Orange Counties, in-school in Collier, Gadsden, Madison, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties

*Mental health program for university or college students age 18 and over, including those taking on-line courses, on leave of absence or transitioning back to school *Provides support and guidance to learn coping skills to manage mental health and academic life through group therapy focusing on reducing mood symptoms, self-care, wellness, social skills, navigating resources and supports, and creating/using support systems including family *Includes 12 hours of therapeutic activities per week

*Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MT3505) in private practice who is currently accepting new patients in a location which is accessible and can be reached by public transportation *Fees $100 an hour, offers a sliding scale for self-pay: $75 for students, sliding scale based on financial hardship; does not accept insurance *Treats adolescents through adults as individuals, families, and couples in person and by video (telemental health); specialty treatment areas include general anxiety and depression, victim and trauma counseling, crisis counseling and trauma, PTSD, parenting, adolescent counseling, and racial anxiety, also provides workshops and presentations for business related to mental health, racial trauma, and cultural climate *Therapist is female, English speaking, African American & cannot prescribe or manage patient's medications

*Provides audiobooks, including school textbooks, to dyslexic, blind or visually impaired students, parents, families, and educators *Through a grant, all public schools in Florida have free access to these publications; individuals pay for the service ($135 per year)

*Provide free and confidential tutoring on an individual basis, to anyone age 16 and older wishing to learn how to read and write or study for the GED.

Leon County Schools, Adult and Community Education

*Classroom programs for persons 16 and older: GED classes, classes teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), high school classes for students who want to improve a grade and adults missing credits, and two programs serving adults with special needs *GED testing has four subjects divided into separate exams; Reasoning Through Language Arts (150 minutes with a 10-minute break), Mathematics Reasoning (115 minutes), Science (90 minutes), Social Studies (70 minutes); at least 145 points are required on each exam to pass; each exam costs $32 and retakes cost $12 *Some of the GED and ESOL courses are available online *Most classes are $40 a semester with the exception of the classes for adults with special needs which do not have a fee
