Kearney Center, The

*Helpline 2-1-1 refers adult callers with no children seeking shelter directly to the Kearney Center intake phone line *Intake phone line and walk-up assessment are open 9AM-4PM, M-F, and 4PM-8PM Sa-Su, excluding holidays; callers will have to leave name and reliable phone number; check-in for overnight guests from 4PM-8PM; after those hours, guests will need to be accompanied by law enforcement to be allowed entry *Day Services is available M-F 9AM-4PM; Clients in day services can shower, eat, do laundry, participate in services provided by local service providers, and utilize the clinic during clinic hours *Calls that come in on a Friday will be returned by 5PM Tuesday *Not everyone can be helped, please make sure callers understand this so they can consider other options if possible *Callers will be helped on a first come, first serve basis, with women and the most vulnerable persons having priority *CESC (Connecting Everyone with Second Chances) Health Care program offers a nurse clinic, Bond Community Health Mobile Unit, Big Bend Cares HIV Screenings, and Mental Health Counseling *No pets allowed; Follows Federal, State, and local government guidelines and regulations pertaining to service animals *Appeal process: Clients with grievances or concerns about services can physically go into The Kearney Center building 3PM, Mondays and Thursdays, to talk to an employee about their issues *Donations appreciated; Items most needed: Deodorant, Soap, Shampoo, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, male and female undergarments; monetary donations are greatly appreciated as well
