Leon Advocacy and Resource Center (LARC)
*Four primary programs to enable people with developmental disabilities to participate in community life
*Residential: six group homes with specialized living services and supported living counselors on call 24 hours per day
*Supported Employment: training and assistance to both employee and employer during sustained employment
*Supported Living: training and assistance to live in and maintain a home or apartment of participants' choosing; may include: personal hygiene and grooming skills, household chores, meal preparation, shopping, personal finances, and social and adaptive skills; some participants also receive services of paid roommate (In Home Supports) who provides personal care
*Community Training and Other supports: transportation, companion, community inclusion, and trial competency training
*LARC also works with Leon County Schools' Exceptional Student Education program to provide vocational training so students can find and maintain competitive employment
*Branch in Taylor County serves clients; call LARC office for referral
*Offers Kiwanis Aktion Club program, a service club for people with disabilities
Services: Comprehensive Disability Related Employment Programs, Home/Community Based Developmental Disabilities Programs, Independent Living Skills Instruction, Older Adult/Disability Related Supportive Housing
