*Children's Emergency Center designed for and by children using board-certified physicians at TMH collaborating with board-certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville incorporating telemedicine when needed and special amenities for children
*Located on 2nd floor of Tallahassee Memorial Emergency Center - Northeast
*Physicians, nurses and other caregivers receive specialized pediatric emergency courses on an on-going basis
*Symptoms addressed at the center:
*High fever: younger than 3 months with temperature of 100.4°F or higher and above 104°F repeatedly for a child of any age
*Trouble breathing: labored breathing, severe asthma attack, possible pneumonia
*Severe burns or cuts that won't stop bleeding
*Severe stomach pain or continuous cramping
*Broken bone: injured area bent or bleeding, existing case soiled or wet
*Head injury: severe headache or migraine or loss of consciousness
*Swallowing chemical substance (poison) or a small object
*Seizure of any kind
