*Patients or caretakers answer questions online to assess eligibility, eligible persons are matched to the nearest ophthalmologist and receive letter with information to schedule appointment
*At appointment, doctor provides a comprehensive eye exam for the patient, most of the care provided is at no out-of-pocket cost to the patient
*Program does not provide glasses or contact lensesÂ
*Must be US citizen or legal resident, may not belong to an HMO or have eye care coverage through the Veterans Administration
*Seniors Program serves persons 65 years or older that have not seen an ophthalmologist in three or more years
*Glaucoma Program serves persons who have not had an eye exam in one or more years and are at increased risk for glaucoma based on age, race and family history
