Description:
*Provides psychiatric evaluation and counseling including crisis counseling for short term; counsels, individuals, couples and groups in person or by video (telemental health)
*Counseling services are provided by mental health professionals, but also may be provided by masters and doctoral students in training; Psychiatrists and M.D.s available, should medications need to be prescribed and managed (must have an in person appointment monthly for medication management)
*Workshops (four weeks) such as Rattlers in Focus (substance use prevention), Self-Esteem, Decision Making, Can We Talk? (to enhance interpersonal skills), Test Anxiety, and Stress Management
*Fees for currently enrolled FAMU students are included in tuition; Students not enrolled for a summer term or recent graduates may pay a health fee (currently $103) that will allow them access to clinic services for one semester
