9/14/20: COVID-19 UPDATE: Program has received more funding for rent, mortgage or utility assistance. Some sources are only for Tallahassee city limit residents and other sources can include the entire eight county Big Bend area.

*Program provides rental/mortgage assistance, stabilization funding and case management mainly for households in Tallahassee at risk of homelessness because of COVID-19.
*A smaller program is also available to provide rental/mortgage assistance, stabilization funding and case management for households at risk of homelessness for other reasons within Tallahassee and the eight county Big Bend area.
*All household types are eligible (Adults with or without children).
*Families with minor children are prioritized to some extent.
*Funding can cover past due rent/mortgage and past due utility bills
*Funding can also cover deposits and other costs associated with establishing new households in some situations where the household is not yet literally homeless.

*Eligibility: FOR ALL APPLICANTS:
1) Must be at risk of homelessness.
2) Must have a written past due rent notice or three-day NOTICE TO TENANT letter. Documentation must convey that eviction will be pursued if past due payment is not addressed.
3) Or must have documentation regarding the need to vacate current household (end of permitted cohousing, domestic violence, etc.).
4) Past due rent or lack of income to remain housed or vacate an unstable household must be due to COVID-19 impacts on the household in most instances. Some funding is also available for non-COVID-19 related impacts. Some funding is Tallahassee only, and some is available for anywhere in the eight-county Big Bend area.
5) The Homeless Management Information System database will be checked for how much Homeless Prevention, Rapid Re-Housing or Emergency Services Grants have been received in the last three years which will be a factor in determining eligibility.
