Description:
*Provides crisis intervention services for people of any age in a mental health or substance abuse crisis 24/7 in a community-based setting (i.e. schools, homes, community locations, etc.) to stabilize individuals in the least restrictive setting to avoid possible jail, hospital, or emergency room utilization; also works with the individual and their family to identify and create strategies for effectively dealing with possible future crisis, and rapid follow-up after the initial contact including a trasition to ongoing services such as psychiatric evaluation and medication management
*Services are provided through phone consultations and in person by by the Mobile Response Team clinicians, but also remotely by law enforcement with tablets to initiate a telemental health session with the same intervention goals
*Services sometimes include assistance with a person in crisis who is experiencing an unavoidable Baker Act or Marchman Act intervention by law enforcement officers
