*Call or use website to see if qualified for referral to one of EyeCare America's 6,000 plus volunteer ophthalmologists nationwide
*Works to reduce avoidable blindness and severe visual impairment by providing free eye health educational materials and facilitating access to medical eye care
*Eligible seniors without ophthalmologist visit in three or more years may be able to receive a referral for eye care at no out-of-pocket cost for up to one year
*Persons determined to be at increased risk for glaucoma (by age, race and family history) and have not had an eye exam in 12 months or more may be eligible to receive free glaucoma eye exam if uninsured
*Program does not provide glasses or contact lenses
*Must be US citizen or legal resident, may not belong to an HMO or have eye care coverage through the Veterans Administration
