*Update 10/10/2023: Applications closed; no funding available *Program is only for homeowners who live inside the Tallahassee City Limits *Funded by State CARES Act to stabilize and preserve the homes of residents who have been impacted by the COVID-19 *Seeks to to improve the living conditions of households affected by COVID-19 by removing health and safety hazards and/or architectural barriers *Up to $15,000 is available for eligible repairs including but not limited to: *Sewage backup and other plumbing repairs *HVAC repair or replace *Faulty electrical wiring *Roof repair or replace *Broken or leaking windows or screens *Exterior paint deterioration *Dangerous/rotting railings, stairs, landings, or porches *Rotting interior flooring *Accessibility challenges for persons with limited mobility Eligibility: *Applicant must be a homeowner ocated within the Tallahassee City Limits *Mobile homes are eligible if the unit was manufactured after June 1994 and was installed by a professional/licensed installer *Applicants must prove that they have been impacted COVID-19 since March 2020. Reasons may include loss of income, increased cost of health care, increased cost of utilities, dependent care, and cost of living expenses, among others *Priority given to elderly (62 years+), disabled, and low income *Must have documented household income at or below 120% Area Median Income (AMI) *Number in Household Income Limit: 1 $61,125 2 $69,825 3 $78,525 4 $87,225 5 $94,275 6 $101,250 7 $108,225 8 $115,200 9 $122,136 10 $129,116 *Applications are being accepted at Talgov.com/Housing, Go to the Strong Homes section, then scroll down to the Apply Online section
